DID In The Courts

DID In The CourtsHad the alter of Kristin who, under demonic influence, tried to break my neck actually succeeded and killed me, should Kristin have gone to jail? I personally wouldn't have wanted her to go to jail, but my family and the prosecutor most likely would have thought otherwise.

What should happen when the defendant convicted in a criminal court case suffers from dissociative identity disorder (DID) and the crime was committed by one alter but at least one other alter was not even aware of the crime being committed? The alter who committed the crime should be punished, but the alter who neither committed the crime nor even knew about it should not be punished. Since both alters are in the same body, what should happen to the defendant?

In such cases, the defendants should serve out their sentence not in a prison but in a hospital where they can receive treatment, and be eligible for parole if the alter who committed the crime integrates.
