Church In Jerusalem

Church In JerusalemWe found and worshipped at a Baptist church in Jerusalem that had good sermons and nice people, but they didn't do spiritual warfare or know about alters. We also found a large Pentecostal church in downtown Jerusalem and sat through a horrible sermon because they announced prayers after the service for everyone who wants one.

After the service, Kristin and I walked upstairs and into a room that was already filled with people, took our seats at the back, and watched as men came and took men away, and women came and took women away for private prayers.

An American my age came and took me into a small room, where I asked him if his church casts out demons. He was unfazed by the question and said yes. When Kristin says she wants marriage and I remind her that all demons first need to come out and all alters need to integrate, she lately had been saying that I am the one who has alters and demons. I suspected that she was projecting her issues onto me and was sure I didn't have alters. But a demon cast out of her had entered me about four years earlier and I had never felt it leave me with as much force with which it had entered me. As I had no proof that if had left me, I asked him if he could tell whether or not I had any demons to cast out. He stared at me in silence for a moment and then replied that he didn't think I had any demons. When I asked him why he thought that, he said that my eyes are clear, and then began to ask me questions that eventually led me to sharing much of the journey that I had been walking with Kristin. He listened intently, and when I finished, leaned back in his chair, sighed, sat in silence for a bit and then said, "Thank you for taking care of her."

Kristin used to constantly thank me and write me beautiful notes of love and gratitude, but that was years ago when she had different alters, before they integrated. From the current protector alter, I had been receiving demands, resentment, insults and false accusations. This was the first time anyone other than Kristin's now-integrated alters had acknowledged or thanked me for caring for for her. Most people who knew about our situation thought I was stupid, even crazy for standing by her, and a few had advised me to leave her. His words were unexpected but hearing someone express empathy and appreciation nearly brought tears to my eyes.

I could have talked to him all night and felt that he also wanted to talk, but his wife was right outside the door repeatedly asking someone why her husband was taking so long inside in a voice that seemed intentionally loud enough for us to hear. He seemed used to it and just ignored her for a while. I hoped and waited for him to offer to meet with me and Kristin in private on another day, but he didn't.

I returned to the waiting room, found and left with Kristin, and asked her how her prayer had gone. She said that it had gone fine but the woman who prayed for her neither knew nor was told about what she is dealing with. I asked her if she wants to return to the church on another day, but she said no. Frankly, I liked the guy but the sermon we heard was so bad that I didn't push her.
