Youth Pastor

Youth PastorAt the end of the week, the senior pastor told me and Kristin that he needs his office back to conduct the church's normal affairs, which were backing up. We replied that we completely understood and thanked him for letting us have his office for the week and for ministering to Kristin.

The senior pastor then said that since the room at the cheap guest house where Kristin is staying isn't suitable for casting out demons, the youth pastor wanted to have Kristin stay with his family at his house, where he and I could continue ministering to her. What did we think?

I was thrilled at the proposal of having Kristin stay with the youth pastor's family but didn't want her feeling that I was eager to hand her off to someone else, so I turned to her for her opinion. Thankfully, she welcomed it as well, so we moved her to the youth pastor's house the next morning.

The youth pastor, his wife and their two daughters, aged 15 and 13, lived at the outskirts of the city in a small three-story townhouse that had a living room, dining room and kitchen on the ground floor, and the bedrooms and bathrooms on the two upper floors. Their 15-year-old daughter kindly gave up her bedroom and bathroom on the top floor, which Kristin would have to herself.

After lunch and prayers, the youth pastor and I began to minister to Kristin in her new room, which filled with commands for the demons to come out of her, the guttural noise from her as they resisted or came out, and the trash can filled with tissues wet with her saliva and phlegm.

By midnight, we were completely drained, and called it a night. I took a tuk-tuk back to my guest house, ate, showered, prayed, went to bed, awoke the next morning, prayed, ate, took a tuk-tuk back to the youth pastor's house, where he, Kristin and I fought against the demons from around noon to midnight again, and this continued day after day.

The youth pastor's wife helped us as the senior pastor's wife had helped us in the senior pastor's office, as did their two daughters. Once, when I opened the door of Kristin's room quite late at night to go and use the restroom, I found both girls kneeling on the stairs, praying side by side while facing the door to Kristin's room. They were precious.

As the days turned into weeks, all of us began to tire and questions began to emerge. Kristin had said that all demons had been cast out in about an hour the day the youth pastor began ministering to her. Why was it taking so long to cast them all out this time? Were these demons those that had been cast out and then returned, or were they demons that had remained hidden when Kristin first said that all demons had been cast out? Or were they demons that entered her for the first time after the first day? And just how many demons could one person have?
